No one will save you

Hey everyone and welcome today we will be talking about the film No One Will Save You. Fun Fact, the designs of the aliens are reminiscent of sketches of aliens from the 1950’s. This film came out in 2023 and stars Kaitlyn Dever and was directed by Brian Duffield. So without further ado let’s get right into it.

No One Will Save You follows Brynn who is a homebody who must fight off aliens that are trying to take over her body.

No One Will Save You is a sci-fi horror filled alien film. It has similar vibes to A Quiet Place, The Fourth Kind, or Nope.

There aren’t many characters in this film but Brynn is played by Kaitlyn Dever who you may remember from Booksmart and Brian Duffield also directed The Babysitter.

Let me just start by saying Kaitlyn Dever is a freaking treasure. This movie is mostly dialogue free and she was able to do such a great job of expressing what her character was feeling throughout the film. Her performance had me fully invested and curious as to what was going to happen next.

I loved the alien design for this movie. It seemed like they went back to the classics instead of trying to have some over the top alien design which I thought was cool. You may not think they’re scary at first but then you quickly realize how fast they move and that they’re tryna shove something down your throat to control you.

The special effects for this movie are simple but they worked. This movie proved that you can do a cool alien movie without crazy effects.

With this being a film with minimal to no dialogue I was wonder how they were going to explain her past and why everyone gave her weird looks or looks of pure hatred. I thought it was super creative to use the aliens attempt to control her as a time to basically do a flashback of her life to explain why she was hate so much with out having to say a single word.

Like I said this film had minimal dialogue but I wouldn’t call it a silent film because there were other sounds throughout the movie just not dialogue. It’s impressive to have a film like this that still manages to hold my attention even though there is no dialogue. Its cool how they don’t make it completely silent and still make use of other sounds to further add

This movie doesn’t take us to too many places but it truly maximizes the space it has. We see how she utilizes different places in her house to hide and even when she goes out the house we see how isolated she is and how hard it would be to attempt to get help.

I thought the ending was crazy to see the aliens not stopping their invasion but instead letting her keep her mind and living with the aliens. In my head it was weird but also made sense because the people didn’t treat her well and weirdly she found happiness with the aliens who decided to be nice to her and don’t judge her past.

I think my favorite part of this film was her killing the aliens. Every time she was clearly the underdog in the fight and it was never looking good for her she somehow came out on top and even though it seemed mostly luck it was still impressive to see.

No One Will Save You is a film that had me invested from beginning to end. I think that this movie deserved a theatrical release because it would’ve been great to see on a big screen but I think its a great alien movie which is something I feel we don’t see often in the horror space.
